How To Replace Grinding Machine Bearings – Bearing are one of the important components of grinding machines. So if this component is damaged it should be replaced. Replacement of bearings on grinding machines is usually due to several causes, including the grinding machine beeping rough, the grinding machine jammed and the grinding machine vibrates when used. In this discussion will be explained how to replace grinding machine bearings.
Therefore, if we experience problems like the one mentioned above, then we have to replace the bearings with new ones. But of course we have to know how to do it. Well, if you do not know how, please see the following discussion on how to change the bearings on the grinding machine.
How To Replace Grinding Machine Bearings
Before making a replacement, make sure the grinding machine is off. Well, here are the steps to change the bearings on the grinding machine.
- The first step is to remove the carbon brush on the hand grinding machine. To remove the carbon brush there are two ways that can be done. If the carbon brush is outside, we simply remove the carbon brush cap and remove the carbon brush. However, if the carbon brush is inside, then we have to remove the back body of the machine and take it by removing the carbon brush connector
- After the carbon brush is removed, open the head of the grinding machine by removing the 4 locking bolts. Then remove the head of the grinding machine and its armatur by removing it
- Check both bearings attached to the grinding armature, if there are damaged bearings, then remove them using tracker bearings. If the bearing has been removed, install a new bearing according to the number
- If the bearing on the armature is in good condition, then we also need to check one more bearing located on the head of the grinding machine. Or rather on the helical gear. To check it, that is by removing the headgear of the grinding machine by removing the 4 locking bolts first
- Once removed, check the condition of the bearings contained in the helical gear. If it is damaged, replace it by removing the helical gear first. Then also remove the bearing locking ring located on the head of the grinding machine. After that, take the damaged bearing and replace it with a new one that matches the number. Then reattach the helical gear and attach it to its original position
