Oil Lubrication System In Diesel Engine
Basically, the oil lubrication system is the rotation of lubricating oil in lubricating all moving engine components. There is also an explanation of the oil lubrication system in diesel engine, which is as follows:
- When the engine is started, the flywhell rotation will drive the oil pump.
- The oil pump will start spinning and sucking the lubricating oil that is in the crankcase.
- Before the lubricating oil enters the oil pump, it will be filtered first by the strainer. So that the lubricating oil that enters the oil pump is a clean lubricating oil and free from dirt.
- After entering the pump, the lubricating oil will become high pressure and exit through the outlet of the oil pump.
- The lubricating oil that comes out of the pump will enter its respective paths and move towards moving engine components, such as crankshafts, cylinder liners, connection roads, pistons, rocker arms, and others).
- Lubricating oil will also be flowed to the oil indicator so that its movement can be controlled.
- After passing through the indicators and engine components, the lubricating oil will move back into the crankcase.
